Zombie Popcorn is celebrating it's 5th installment of the Zombie Popcorn hunt with a terrific mix of stores and gifts for their faithful hunters. There are a lot of stores, and we hit a lot of lag - so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get through this hunt, as it only runs for 2 weeks. The official blog has a listing of participating stores, and there is an in-world group as well. We strongly recommend joining the group. In the first folder from the first stop there is also a notecard with all the store SLurls and hints - definitely something you want to pick up early in the hunt, even if you do like we did and skip to the middle to avoid the crush of folks at the start.
One thing to be aware of is that the folders are not named in a hunt-friendly manner. They list the hunt name, store name, and the store number last - meaning that in your inventory they are NOT sorted by numbers, and it gets confusing figuring out where the folder is for the next LM - especially with the frequent crashes due to lag and unstable sims during the OS upgrades Linden Labs is doing these days. We ended up renaming all 100 folders in order to make any kind of sense of them in our inventory.

ReplyDeleteI guess on the bright side, at least the folders are named with the hunt name first instead of the store name first. THAT gets confusing!
When I go on a hunt, I make a folder for that hunt and put the prizes in that as I pick them up. Much easier then having to scramble later on.

Hi guys - I guess I need to make it more clear in the written section of the posts. This is the first of 2 posts it will take to include all the stores on the hunt since there are 100 stores. We try not to put more than 50 stores in any single post because it makes them too long and unwieldy for loading when people visit the page. As it said in the blip we wrote - we skipped to the middle of the hunt to avoid lag and the crush of hunters at the start. That is standard practice for us, we do it for every big hunt (Twisted, Steam, etc). Those hunts are not posted numerically either: the individual posts contain stores in the order we hunt them and each is numbered on the blog according to which post it happens to be in the set for that particular hunt. A hunt of 200 stores will have 4 posts, which are numbered 1-4 as they go online, not reflective of which portions of the hunt they contain. The CONTENTS of the post are clearly marked to show which stores are included (in this case, 53-100). This became part 1 of 2 that Zombie Popcorn will have, and those stores were shown first because we hunted them first and those photos were finished and edited first. We have done it this way since we began the blog almost a year and a half ago, and its a system that works for us. Cheers ~ Shadow
