Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to Freebie Hunters! One of our favorite pastimes in Second Life is scouting the grid for fantastic hunts, sales, events and gifts from all the wonderful creators. We thought we'd share the wealth and showcase some of our finds in this blog, with an emphasis on the goodies available in various SL events and hunts. We do our best to show ALL items from a hunt/event and in the manner the creator intended, but this is not always possible.

***UPDATE August, 2018- We are still finding freebie/nearly free items to share with you, but due to RL time constraints, a lot of what we find is being posted solely on Flickr. If you would like to follow the events being posted there, here is a link to the album page for our account: Flickr Albums. These are not blog posts, but simply pictures of the gifts available. Thank you!

Thank You to all of the creators!

THE 13th Bi-ANNUAL TWISTED IS HERE!

Twisted S'15

The 13th Bi-Annual Twisted Hunt kicked off in Second Life on March 5th.  The hunt got off to a slightly delayed start (seriously, the 13th hunt in a 4 week period containing a Friday the 13th and April Fools Day?  totally to be expected something would happen!) but will be extending the final hunt date to April 5th to compensate for the lost days.  The hunt theme this time around is Spectres...ghosts, ghoulies, things that go bump in the night, its all fair game.  The chosen color is a teal-ish shade of grey, affectionately being called ectoplasm.  And...after years of threatening hunters with it...the cubes themselves are translucent.  That's right - you can see through the little suckers and it helps them blend into their surroundings even better than usual!

As always, hints, help and general mayhem/merriment are available through the group chat, so if you do not already belong to the Twisted group, I do recommend you join at least for the duration of the hunt.  It really is a good time, the chat is always busy and it helps take away the sting when the cubes are winning the fight.   You can also find a complete list of participating stores and SLurls on their official site to get you started and to help you skip to the next store when your eyes are melted and brain shuts off on some of the harder spots.

Look for the Twisted Easels in the store - they contain information about extras the shops might have for you, such as gachas, special sales, side hunts, mazes, etc.  There is a lot more to do on the Twisted path than just chase cubes, so take your time and poke around the stores - no telling what you may find!

I'll be posting pics over the next few days of some of the gifts and extra items you can find on the hunt, but however much I end up posting, trust that it is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what is out there.  Happy Hunting!

Cheers,
Shadowed
