SL Freebie Hunters: Summer Nights Hunt

This hunt left me with mixed feelings, not the least of which is a growing irritation with SL's constant rollouts and server issues. The hunt has been in full swing since May 2nd, so by now most of the kinks in the hunt path should have been ironed out. Unfortunately, I hit a lot of them. However, we all know how notoriously bad the grid gets on weekends and most people have been impacted one way or another by issues with the latest round of screw-with-the-servers that SL decided to do a few days ago. I have heard horror stories from all over about missing inventories, TP issues, ghosted avs - pretty much every problem out there seems to have been exacerbated with whatever has been going on since about Wednesday or so of last week. Personally, I have been getting logged out of SL roughly every 4th teleport or so because of server handoff issues (this is with an arc below 800 and less than 50 scripts on my av). So...in light of the general mayhem going on, I am attributing the majority of my issues with navigating this hunt to SL problems.

That being said - the vendors did a fantastic job with their gifts. There is a great mix of clothing, accessories, and summery furniture/builds for both men and women that is sure to evoke thoughts of warm, starfilled summer nights in anyone. It is really good to see a hunt that doesnt neglect the men, and they made it easy on the hunters to get the right prize - pink (female gift) or blue (male gift) stars and in some cases, purple (unisex gift) stars. As a bonus, when you reach the end, there is an LM to a special gift area where you can pick up some great little extras from the vendors. The gifts are lovely, the stores were a pleasure to explore, and hopefully some of the issues with navigating the hunt will be ironed out as SL settles back to normal. Or what passes for normal on the grid. =/ There is an official blog with a list of stores, a list of hints, a list of hunt path updates, but no list of SLurls so you may have to search for LMs if you get stuck anywhere. There is an in-world group as well, which can be another resource for getting through the hunt.

Grab your hunt pals, talk your significant other into tagging along, and be patient with the teleports. The goodies are definitely worth the bit of extra effort this hunt needs.
