Seasons salutations, my lovely hunters! We have obviously been hitting the eggnog too hard this year, and decided to bring you a special Second Life holiday shopping treat. As long time readers know, we LOVE the Twisted Hunts. As you also know, they tend to melt hunters' brains. As you may not know, the wonderful folks from DV8 host a holiday special gridwide sales event this time of the year. Its an utterly fantastic chance to score some fabulous gifts (or goodies for yourself!) from about 200 of the Twisted Hunt designers at special holiday prices.
Here is the basic information:
1) This is a sale, not a hunt. That means you won't end up bleeding from the eyes while trying to find those sneaky little cubes. Each location has a distinctive Twisted Krissmuss kiosk where you will find the sale items and each kiosk has links on it to access the list of store LMs. You can also drop by the Twisted Krissmuss headquarters to get the LM list if you prefer.
2) The items at each location are priced at 100L. Each location will have at least one gift, a new, never-sold-before item. Most stores have more than one goodie out for your shopping pleasure. Some of the items are exclusive to this shopping event, others will be on sale at a higher price after January 6th.
3) The items are all transferable, which makes them perfect to give as gifts in SL this holiday season to your near in dear.
The coolest thing about this event is the why behind it. These designers are 200 of the best in SL. These people break their butts all year bringing us new and fabulous things to make our SL better, but at holiday time, they each decided to give even more.
The economy blows for most folks this year, but this is a way for the designers to help spread a little holiday cheer through SL. There are some absolutely gorgeous items up for sale, and they make it really simple for you to pick up a little something to help make the holidays brighter for the people you care about. Expect a few more posts - the designers have been incredibly generous in donating items for us to show on the blog and we are working our way through them all so you can see these great gift ideas. Also, there is an official Flickr group where you can see even more pictures of the items available during this shopping tour.
Cheers, and Happy Holidays!

I hate to say it but if this is the best SL has to offer, then we're screwed.
ReplyDeleteI ain't paying 100L for something listed on a freebie treasure hunt blog
ReplyDeleteOh noes. Two people who don't want to be identified in any way don't like this entry. Better shut down the site, Shadowed. And while you're at it, tell all these merchants who put time and effort into creating everything to close their shops. Then tell Rodvik to shut down SL for good measure. Because Anonymous says it's all a big failure.
ReplyDeleteThen don't. And I am thisclose to closing comments on the Twisted posts, which is something I have never done for ANY post on this blog. Here's why: I don't care if you don't like goth/alternative/darker stuff. I don't care if you don't want to pay for something. Both those things are your personal perogative - everyone is entitled to their own tastes and their own spending habits. But I am seriously getting fed up with people posting comments on the blog as if they are owed something - certain types of hunts to be showcased or only freebie things they can score. I think the designers in SL do an incredible job, month after month, of providing things free or very inexpensively in the hunts and various events. They work hard on these items. Once a year, it wouldn't kill anyone to show a little appreciation to the designers and take part in something that costs a couple lindens. If you are the kind of bottom feeder who only wants something for nothing, more power to you. The majority of hunters also shop and support the designers they like so that the designers can keep creating things and taking part in hunts. The spirit of this blog is to show what's out there, to get more people into hunting, and to help support the designers.
ReplyDeleteNo one pays us to blog these hunts. We pick the ones that interest us, and yeah, that means our personal taste in WHAT we hunt shows. If you don't like the blog, if you don't like our choices, then by all means - feel free to use other blogs to see what's out there. There are dozens of blogs about SL. Find one that caters more to your own personal taste if you don't like what we do. There is only so much time in the day between real life, work, etc. for us to spend hunting, and I don't care to spend the time I do have on things that don't interest me.
