Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to Freebie Hunters! One of our favorite pastimes in Second Life is scouting the grid for fantastic hunts, sales, events and gifts from all the wonderful creators. We thought we'd share the wealth and showcase some of our finds in this blog, with an emphasis on the goodies available in various SL events and hunts. We do our best to show ALL items from a hunt/event and in the manner the creator intended, but this is not always possible.

***UPDATE August, 2018- We are still finding freebie/nearly free items to share with you, but due to RL time constraints, a lot of what we find is being posted solely on Flickr. If you would like to follow the events being posted there, here is a link to the album page for our account: Flickr Albums. These are not blog posts, but simply pictures of the gifts available. Thank you!

Thank You to all of the creators!

Twisted Fall 2011: Unseelie Hunt, pt. 2

Twisted Fall 2011 Hunt
Second portion of the Twisted Hunt was just as fantastic as the first. The help from the in-world group is terrific, and will probably (maybe...not really) keep you from going insane as you chase those elusive little cubes across SL. At least you'll be losing it in good company, though! The pictures below do not do justice to the gorgeous detailing and rich texturing on so many of the gifts, so if you like something here, chances are its going to be even better once you hunt it down. Also, please keep in mind that the blog just shows what we found - there may be other cubes (in fact, I know there are some) that we missed, so you have the chance of getting a few complete surprises along the way. Be kind to the chat helpers - they are not paid for the hours and hours they put in being on call for passing along hints and helping you guys, and yet somehow they make it through, keep the hunt running smoothly and haven't killed any annoying hunters yet...at least none they admit to. =)

The hunt does last all month, so take your time, take a few deep breaths, and enjoy yourself on the Twisted path.

Cheers, and Happy Hunting!

~Shadowed

  3. SKW - Feel free to contact me in SL if you want. As for the rest, I know, and I stand by the position I took last time around. Persona non grata in my blog. =)

  4. Btw - post was removed by me, SKW, because it had a link to persona non grata's stuff, not because anything said in it was offensive or wrong. sucker wouldn't let me edit out just the link. =)

  5. Oh okay. Well then I'll post what I can remember without the link!

The Make Her Over Hunt that will be starting at the end of the month is run by the little troll Vic Zuzu (overlord of the Make Him Over Hunt), and I would advise anyone who has had trouble with him in the past to avoid the hunt. I will personally not be purchasing from designers involved in the hunt until after it has run it's course.

  7. Perhaps a reason WHY SKW feels this way would be appreciated.

  10. Shadowed, you rock. Thanks for all the hard work. While just the photos themselves are above and beyond what other blogs do you go yet ANOTHER step further. I especially appreciate the fact that you consistently present the hunt gifts in a particular order. The dudes' and unisex stuff is first, so as a guy I can be assured that all the clothes I need to see are right there in the first couple of frames. Awesome!
