If you haven't yet filled out the Hunt Poll, please take a minute and do so. The response has been fantastic, and honestly - we didn't expect the depth of thought and information you guys have been so kind as to share with us. Originally, I had intended for the information to be just for our use, but it's too good NOT to share with other hunt coordinators as a way to let them know what is working and what is not working when they put a hunt together.
The poll will remain open on the blog until the end of the month, and then we are going to "sanitize it" by removing any identifying information from the responses (such as those of you who signed your name to a comment, etc), and make the information available to other hunt coordinators who are interested in what you all have to say.
Don't be shy - the only way to know what really makes a hunt fun is for you, the hunters, to let us know. The good, the bad, the ugly - this is your chance to have a voice.
Cheers,
Shadow and Thanos
P.S. I heard a rumor that SL Freebie Hunters might be considering coordinating their first hunt based on the information coming in through the poll....
Traveling through the Second Life grid in search of free items and fantastic deals.
Welcome!
Hi there and welcome to Freebie Hunters! One of our favorite pastimes in Second Life is scouting the grid for fantastic hunts, sales, events and gifts from all the wonderful creators. We thought we'd share the wealth and showcase some of our finds in this blog, with an emphasis on the goodies available in various SL events and hunts. We do our best to show ALL items from a hunt/event and in the manner the creator intended, but this is not always possible.
***UPDATE August, 2018- We are still finding freebie/nearly free items to share with you, but due to RL time constraints, a lot of what we find is being posted solely on Flickr. If you would like to follow the events being posted there, here is a link to the album page for our account: Flickr Albums. These are not blog posts, but simply pictures of the gifts available. Thank you!
Thank You to all of the creators!
oooh waits on news on a Shadow/Thanos Hunt!!
ReplyDeleteHello Shadow, I think myself and many other hunters outhere do follow your blog and value your opnion on hunts is mainly because you are not associated with hunters themselves, your opnion is trusted nit because of your good character but because of your umbias opnion. Organizing a hunt might sond very tempting and all but it may also add you to the "they" list inteansted of an "us" list. Sorry my English is not very good but I would be glad to explain better what I mean in a notecard inworld but you probably do not have the time, don't make a hunt and cross over stay with the little guys and stay true :)
ReplyDeleteHallo, anonny =) Thank you for the kind words. To be honest, though, I AM associated with the "other" side of the hunts. I own a store in SL, and my store has been taking part in hunts for the last 3 years, well before the blog was started. I have reduced the number of hunts my store does a month because of the amount of time the blog takes, but I try to keep my hand in at least 1-2 hunts per month. The only aspect of hunting I have not tried is being in the hunt coordinator shoes, and I am curious to see what it's like. I don't think SL Freebie Hunters blog hunts will become a regular thing, but I do think it would be a valuable learning experience and help round out my perceptions of the SL hunt scene to give it a try at least once.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Shadow P.S. Feel free to drop me a notecard if you wish, I'd be happy to discuss this more with you in-world =)
