SL Freebie Hunters: Rally to Rescue

Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to Freebie Hunters! One of our favorite pastimes in Second Life is scouting the grid for fantastic hunts, sales, events and gifts from all the wonderful creators. We thought we'd share the wealth and showcase some of our finds in this blog, with an emphasis on the goodies available in various SL events and hunts. We do our best to show ALL items from a hunt/event and in the manner the creator intended, but this is not always possible.

***UPDATE August, 2018- We are still finding freebie/nearly free items to share with you, but due to RL time constraints, a lot of what we find is being posted solely on Flickr. Rally to Rescue 2

Last July, I was fortunate enough to be included in blogging the Rally to Rescue shopping event hosted by the Ghost Bullys 1% MC. Those fine folks have pulled together another Rally to Rescue event, again with the proceeds from all event sales being donated to non-profit, no kill volunteer animal rescue organizations. These are not bargain items - everything is full price, but the money goes to a really good cause, helping care for animals who need our help.

This is only a peek at some of the wonderful items designers have donated for the event, there is a lot more to see than just what I've pictured in this post. The last Rally to Rescue was a great success and they were able to make a fantastic donation to the animal rescue, so please come on out and help make this round a success as well. Its a great opportunity to help out - and yes, I am a sucker for animal causes! =)

Rally to Rescue Event

Looking for something different to do this weekend? Have I got a treat for you folks! I was fortunate enough to stumble into the Rally to Rescue event being hosted by the Ghost Bullys 1% MC. This is a charity event to help raise money for the care of animals in non-profit, no-kill, volunteer rescue organizations.

They have set up a shopping hud (available at their sim) which will take you on a tour of the participating shops. Pictures of the great stuff you will find on the shopping tour are below and 100% of the proceeds from the sales of these items go to the rescue organizations.

They also have a ton of concerts and bike rides planned over the 4 days of the event. I am providing a link HERE to a page with the event schedule listing all the concerts and bike rides they have set up for anyone who is interested in going. It sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun.
