MOH10

GUYS! MOH10 is up and running and you will not want to miss this hunt! I was superexcited to get the chance to do this edition of the hunt - it always cheers me up to see an event going on just for you men out there. When it comes to hunt, sales, fashion, the men of SL always seem to get the short end of the stick. From now until October 28th, however, there are some amazing things to be found out there during this hunt. You need to stop by the Flair for Events office to pick up their hunt welcome pack before you start. It contains the HUD for teleporting to each of the stores as well as some handy notecards to help you get through the hunt. Hints for each shop can be found on their official blog.

One thing to note - I am not sure if SL was just screwing with me and my hunt partner or if it is intentional to keep hunters from getting bunched up in the same place, but the hud appears to generate each jump to the next shop randomly. Hunt partner and I each teleported to the first location to the right (the hud has left and right pointers for which direction to go through the list), and we ended up in different places. The stores were not coming up in the same order on the two huds. If you hunt alone, it won't matter; but if you hunt with a friend, maybe designate one of you as the official teleporter for your adventure. In our case, hunt partner was official teleporter and I was keeper of the hints list (I copied them from their site to a NC and deleted each one as we found it so we could track which stores we visited and which we had left to do).

The hunt item you are looking for is a black mustache. Some are easier to find than others, but we did find one for every store on the hints list. The mustaches are free and you do not need to join a group to do the hunt. Good Luck!

MoH9 - the Hipsta Hunt

The lovely folks of the Men Only Hunts have done it again - the 9th MoH is underway all this month in Second Life. The Hipsta Hunt contains about 50 stores focused exclusively on the gentlemen. Not only will you find all kinds of good looking gifts as you work through the hunt path, but it is a golden opportunity to get to know stores you might not be familiar with. This round, you are hunting for a hidden mustache - and let me tell you, that little sucker is 'stached in some sneaky places!

If you have never done a MoH before, its really easy - drop by the start location (slurl below) and pick up the Hipsta Hunt hud for free. Wear the hud while you hunt - it has the Slurls to each of the stores, information on which stores might have issues such as missing prizes, and hints for all the store locations. It is a fairly large hud, but it can easily be minimized with the little X in the upper right corner. (I will admit it took me a hot minute to figure that out, I had assumed the X would detach the hud.) Once you find the mustache at each location, you can buy them for free and will get either a folder or object added to your inventory containing your gift.

In addition to the prizes pictured below, there were 4 stores offering Catwa specific items, which I did not include. Yes, yes, bad blogger - I don't have a Catwa head for my male av yet and those particular items did not include a photo of the gift. But I was able to find each mustache on the hunt path (with the exception of the 2 skipped stored per the hud), so they are out there.

Men Only Hunt 8

Among the hundreds of hunts, shopping events and various fairs held in SL every year, men in general get shafted on events just for them to score some of the great deals that the women find all over the place. Well, gentlemen, today is your lucky day! The Men Only Hunt 8 is currently in full swing across the grid and there is a ton of stuff you can score if you are so inclined. There are 45 fantastic stores signed up for this round of the hunt and it is a great chance to get out there and do a little shopping while you explore each location in search of the hunt gift.

Start off the hunt by visiting the start location and picking up your hunt hud. Wear the hud while you hunt - it has LMs to each of the stores on the hunt path and the hint for each store pops up in your local chat, which is much better than having to refer back and forth to the website. It also has information on which stores are skipped or otherwise having an issue, so you don't lose time wandering at a dropped location. You are looking for a glass of beer at each location, and the glasses can be bought for 0L.
