Welcome!

Hi there and welcome to Freebie Hunters! One of our favorite pastimes in Second Life is scouting the grid for fantastic hunts, sales, events and gifts from all the wonderful creators. We thought we'd share the wealth and showcase some of our finds in this blog, with an emphasis on the goodies available in various SL events and hunts. We do our best to show ALL items from a hunt/event and in the manner the creator intended, but this is not always possible.

***UPDATE August, 2018- We are still finding freebie/nearly free items to share with you, but due to RL time constraints, a lot of what we find is being posted solely on Flickr. If you would like to follow the events being posted there, here is a link to the album page for our account: Flickr Albums. These are not blog posts, but simply pictures of the gifts available. Thank you!

Thank You to all of the creators!

Mornin' Sunshine Hunt

MSH
Run, do not walk to the nearest Mornin' Sunshine participating store and get yourself on this hunt! This was a true pleasure to do - well organized, correct LMs, stores actually where they are supposed to be, and some pretty great gifts. You are looking for a piece of toast in some pretty neat, imaginative stores, which made for some interesting toast spottings! We had a really good time on this one, and only wish we'd been able to blog it earlier in the month - you don't have much time left to get in on this one, hunters. Go get the toast! =)

  1. Neato! I did not know this hunt was going on. xD Thanks for posting, again! <33
Yay for well organized hunts! I know it's a bitch putting them together and whether it stays organized depends a lot on the participating stores... but for the hunts that can do it, bravo. I support this and will do as much as I can before the hunt is over! Especially Mandragora for that cool tree thing.

  2. Ah, It'd be perfect if they had SLURLs to each of these stores on the hunt website.

  3. We've had people ask us before to include the SLurls in our posts, and we don't for specific reasons. First and foremost, these are all hunts. We give the official blog information link, there are groups in-world and plenty of resources to find a store. We will never give specific SLurls to ANY hunt item. Secondly, if we were insane enough to try adding general store LM information, we would be doing nothing but constantly updating the information as stores move, quit, and so forth. Not our idea of fun at all. Our hat is off to the hunt coordinators who have to deal with that - we prefer not giving ourselves the headache, especially with the number of hunts/stores we visit a month. =)

  4. No no, Tessira and Shadowed, by "they" I didn't mean you; I meant the hunt website, the official blog, which I did actually say in my original comment as "on the hunt website". :P

  5. Thats what happens when I answer comments at 4am...and yes, we agree with you! =) We're pretty good at finding stores without the SLurls, but we think the official blogs should provide the information as well. Nothing is more frustrating than hitting a dead end on a hunt because a store moved or has the wrong LM and there is no way available to move forward. As a vendor, too, I find it frustrating and unfair to the other stores on the hunt who might be skipped or missed because there is no way past a problem area.
